Welcome

We BELIEVE everything God has allowed to touch our lives is for our good and His GLORY!

Welcome to Our Focus for Hope! We hope that you will take a look around and give us some feedback. We are cousins, battling Breast Cancer at the same time. Through this shared experience, we have often found ourselves not knowing what or how to pray. What we have found and continue to experience is the peace and promise of God’s faithfulness, His unfailing love and the power of HIS WORDS when our words fall silent.

Knowing that this time in our lives is not to be wasted, we joined together our gifts and talents in the creation of Prayer Postcards. We want to encourage others who find themselves or a loved one on a similar journey. The story behind each postcard can be found under the Prayer Postcard Tab.

We want this to be a place that you tell your friends about and return to often for encouragement. Please sign up to have the encouragement and devotionals sent to your inbox. Thank You for joining us and encouraging one another by sharing our cards and devotions with that special someone in your life.

This is where it all started:

Be Still and Know (the link to the story behind this postcard)

Verse: Psalm 46:1-3,10

Prayer: “I’m afraid God. I need your strength to overcome my fears. My worries. My anxieties. My “what-ifs”. Even when it seems like my world is crashing down around me, I will seek my refuge in you. Help me to be still and know YOU. And in this stillness, recognize your permanent presence and perfect peace. Amen.”

Weakness Made Strong

Verse: Psalm 73:26

Prayer: “Dear God, today I can hardly lift my head off the pillow. I am so physically tired and emotionally weak. I wonder if I’ll ever have energy again. How reassuring to know that my health and spirit may not be strong right now, but you are, and will always be, my source of strength. Help me to be okay with resting in your arms and to trust you for renewed strength each day. Amen.”

A Great Hat (the link to the story behind this postcard)

Verse: I Samuel 16:7

Prayer: “God there are some days I can’t even look at myself in the mirror. I don’t recognize who is looking back at me. Others don’t know who I am. But no matter how they see or don’t see me, I know you care more about what my heart looks like than my outward appearance. Help me to have confidence and fun with my new look! Amen.”

The Cardinal (the link to the story behind this postcard)

Verse: Jeremiah 29:11

Prayer: “God, this is definitely not what I had planned! There are days I don’t understand why you are allowing me to go though this BUT I cling to hope. Hope that is greater than my doubts. Hope that is part of your plan for my life and my future. Hope that is grounded in my faith in you; not in my understanding of your plans. Hope that assures mthis is not meant to harm me, but to prosper me and glorify you! So if today I lose my hope, please remind me that your plans are better than my dreams. Amen.”

Unforgettable (the link to the story behind this postcard)

Verse: Isaiah 41:10

Prayer: “God, I’m feeling discouraged. So many things have changed in my life and I’m not sure how to deal with them. Help me to focus instead on the truth that you have not forgotten about me; you are always with me; you are my help and strength and you are holding me up with your mighty and victorious hand. Amen.”

The Sand Dollar (the link to the story behind this postcard)

Verse: Psalm 18:6

Prayer: “God, sometimes I don’t know what to pray. I’m overcome with emotions and the words just aren’t there. How comforting to know that I can bring all my fears, my pain, my distress to you and you will hear me. Thank you for being a listening God and not judging my weaknesses. I know that when I can’t put my prayers into words, you hear my heart. Amen.”
