Hold On.....There is Light!

Oh, how I want the Light Of Life to pass on to others and to see my way clear.

It is with leaking eyes that I ask for prayer for yet another family member who has been diagnosed with cancer.  My husband's youngest sibling, his 44 year old brother has been diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. He will be going to Massachusetts General Hospital tomorrow for a PET scan and to meet with the Oncologist that will direct his treatment. Please hold Greg in prayer along with his wife Jen and their 3 young children.

We may not know what the future holds. But we know who holds it. Praise God.

Scripture and a Snapshot

It seems that the weather is playing hardball this Spring. Regardless, the robins have returned and will be busy building their nests just as God intended.

How Great is Our God! This Psalm begins praising God for his magnificent creation. Then, it turns to exclaim how God not only created everything, but he's still here making sure everything he created is being taken care of just as He intended. He's keeping everything going, growing, moving along, just as he has planned. So, can't we trust that he is doing what's best for us, his beloved as well?

The chapter ends with our response as it should be.....

33 I will sing to the LORD all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.

34 May my meditation be pleasing to him, as I rejoice in the LORD.

Pour It Out!

Our Scripture and a Snapshot Challenge this week  ~  RIVER/LIVING WATER

The comfort of the Holy Spirit, flows plentifully and constantly as a river; strong as a stream to bear down the opposition of doubts and fears. There is a fulness in Christ, of grace for grace. The Spirit dwelling and working in believers, is as a fountain of living, running water, out of which plentiful streams flow, cooling and cleansing as water. These streams have flowed from our glorified Redeemer, down to this age, and to the remote corners of the earth. May we be anxious to make them known to others.
(Matthew Henry's Concise Commentary)

It's Happening!!!

The joy that spring brings.....Isaiah 61:10-11

"I will greatly rejoice in the Lord,

my soul shall be joyful in my God;"

(this is how my soul feels today).

It's March 11th, the snow is melting and the sun is warming the air and the ground enough to allow the crocus and tulips to push through the dark earth and offer the hope of life, blossoms and a new season. Thank You Jesus for the new life that spring brings to my heart, soul and spirit.

It's Mud Season here in Maine!!  And that's all right with me!

A Snapshot's Time is Really All We've Got

Scripture and a Snapshot - Our prompt this week was the word "SHADOW"

Psalm 144:4

To live our lives with eternity in mind, realizing that our lives are but a blip here; would we stress less, make different choices, consider the sacrifice that was made for our eternal home with more intensity? Or, be awed with the One who pays such attention to every detail of our vapor of a life? I think BOTH are in order, with gratitude.

Love Is In The Air

Scripture and a Snapshot captured my collection of coral and lava hearts from Hawaii, as well as my heart's desire. Make it yours too!

Can You Hear Him?

As we continue on with pairing scripture with a snapshot, last week was a "FREE" week. A week without a prompt, this is where my heart dwelt. A week with the opportunity to be a part of playing with simple, imaginative, child like, enthusiasm. You can learn so much from a child. Jesus, He knew we would need to be reminded to step out of our adult, convoluted, crazy pace........to hear His Heart.

The special attributes of children, which Jesus recommended, are humility, unworldliness, simplicity, teachableness, - the direct contraries of self-seeking, worldliness, distrust, conceit. Oh Lord, help me to daily examine my own spirit to be in line with your desire for pure childlike love and trust.

I love the childlike fun of Jodi Merry's photo for our "FREE" week as well.

Be blessed to be a blessing. Smile and show the the world His Heart.

Sharon

Evening....The Wrapping Up of Another Gift

After our "MORNING" prompt came the "EVENING" prompt for pairing Scripture with a Snapshot. This is the verse that spoke to my heart.

Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense. As incense is carefully prepared, kindled with holy fire, and devoutly presented unto God, so let my prayer be. ... And the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice. Prayer is sometimes presented without words by the very motions of our bodies: bent knees and lifted hands are the tokens of earnest, expectant prayer. Lord, hear my prayers for my family.

How Do You Start Your Mornings?

Scripture and a Snapshot theme for this, week #3, MORNING.

Starting my day hearing from God's word just seems to keep him close all day. Show me the way Lord. For my life is in Your hands.

Couldn't decide between Black & White or Color. So, did both.

We'd love to hear how you start your mornings and/or hear from God.

Scripture and a Snapshot

Well Hello!

How is your 2016 kicking off? Are you keeping your resolutions? Has God given you a word for the year? Are you stretching yourself to try something new? I hope that you are finding joy, peace, comfort and fulfillment as you seek the One who has called you by name and will challenge you to keep you close.

Tonia and I are venturing into some new challenges and adventures. I have started one that I'd like to share with you here.

Years ago, as I began my photography, there was a group that challenged me to create a photograph each week with a scripture verse that was based on a theme. It was a wonderful way to blend my new found passion of photography and keep me searching and applying more of God's word. The group is no longer active so, I have started the group up on my own and have a faithful friend who has accepted the challenge with me. If any of you would like to join you are more than welcome, I encourage you in fact. Our group is based over at Flickr.  It's not too late. As long as you are breathing, it's never too late.

Week #1 the challenge was to introduce yourself with a self-portrait and your life verse or a verse you have chosen for the year as your verse.

Colossians 3:12
This is such a reflective time of year for me. Counting my blessings and looking forward to what God has in His plan for me in the coming year. I want to live loved and keep my heart always seeking Him with kindness, humility, meekness and patience for those around me. Lord, hear my prayer. 2016 here we come!!!

Week #2 God's Creation:
The spirit of God hovers over us as well. Ready and eager to breathe his wisdom, life and creative gifts into our willingness. Lord, find me willing and Spirit of God, INVADE me!

Week 3 begins tomorrow and the theme is "Morning". If you are a photographer or know of any photographers, looking for a fun challenge, send them over. We'd love to welcome them and share more of what God is revealing through the gifts He so freely gives.

Seeking, always seeking,
Sharon
